Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of technologies are employed on Webservices?

Webservices isn’t one technology solution, but rather a combination of several of the best Internet technologies available today.  The discussion and project reference databases, as well as the calendar and email functions, use IBM’s Lotus Development subsidiary top notch collaboration and Internet tool, Domino.  Domino offers the added benefit of user-restricted security combined with the powerful functionality of Notes technology.   The standard HTML pages on Webservices reside on a Microsoft Internet Information Services server, which enables the benefits like HTML-based graphic navigation.  Webservices projects are created using a combination of Lotus Domino and Microsoft FrontPage 2000, and are structured to provide seamless integration between the two technologies.

How can I get more information about creating projects on Webservices?
You may contact us by sending email, or if you are already working with Cambridge Systematics staff on a project that does not yet have a web component, let your contact know of your interest and the Webservices team will work with the consultant team to design the solution best suited to your needs.

Why can't I access some of the projects on the Projects page of Webservices?
Many of the projects on Webservices are secure Lotus Domino databases that are restricted to clients with access information only.  If you think you should have access to one of the secure databases, please send us email.  We will contact you as soon as possible.

I have a secure project on Webservices and I can't remember the access information.  Who do I contact for that information?
Send us email including your full name and the name of the database you are trying to access.  We will contact you as soon as possible with the access information.   If you prefer, you also may contact the Cambridge Systematics consultant with whom you worked to create the project -- our team will work with the consultant to provide you with the information as quickly as possible.

Is there a question you would like to ask that doesn't appear on this page or is there information you would like to see posted in the future?  Please email us and we will respond as quickly as possible.
